Judson T. Pitts

Judson is a partner with Wimmer & Pitts, P.C.  He was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 2003 and has an established real estate practice representing brokers, agents, and individuals in litigation. Mr. Pitts’ practice uniquely blends his knowledge and experience in residential mortgage transactions with state and federal consumer protection statutes, such as Truth-in-Lending, the Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (RESPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. He also has practice experience in land-use planning and development and commercial property leasing. Mr. Pitts uses his contacts with the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) to stay on the cutting edge of issues with foreclosures and the Trust Deed Act in Utah. Mr. Pitts received his B.A. (in History and English) from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law.  Mr. Pitts has extensive experience litigating cases in mortgage fraud; mortgage rescissions; short-sale law and negotiation; REPC warranty law; agency law, and the duties of all parties involved in real-property transactions. He regularly assists agents and brokers with drafts for REPC addenda; negotiations with title and underwriters; negotiations with lenders; credit repair; legal opinions regarding liens, and counseling with foreclosure options and legal positions.
